Pattern Seigaiha at the Kanda Shrine

Pattern Seigaiha at the Kanda Shrine

Stylized wave pattern Seigaiha 青海波, literally blue ocean wave, is formed of overlapping concentric circles or larger and smaller arcs. Steel fences of the Sui 水 Shrine at the compound of Kanda Shrine are casting beautiful shadows of this pattern on the ground. The wholesales co-operative of Tokyo fish market builds the Sui Shrine to hope safety of fishermen on seas and good landing of fish. Another photo of wave pattern shows the crest of the Shrine.
