Public speaking hall in Keio University

The original building was constructed in 1876. In 1947 the tile-roofed, two story, western-style wooden building was restored, and in 1967 it was designated as important cultural property. #Namako wall or Namako-kabe, seen the outer of building, is a Japanese wall design widely used for vernacular houses, particularly on fireproof storehouses by the latter half of the Edo period. The Namako wall is distinguished by a white grid patten (made by Shikkui #plaster) on black slate.
